Foster Wheeler Promotes CFB Steam Generator
with New 3D Animation and Video

Foster Wheeler is a global engineering and construction contractor and power equipment supplier headquartered in Clinton, NJ. Working with their Global Power Group, Sonalysts produced a three-minute animated presentation demonstrating the inner workings of their state-of-the-art Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) Boiler. Sonalysts animators worked with the client's engineering and marketing team using their CAD drawings and technical data to build the 3D models. With the use of 3D animation and 2D graphics, the animated video depicts the various types of fuel that can be used by the CFB Boiler, and shows how it efficiently burns these materials and turns the heat into steam power. Text callouts also describe the steps as they are shown, and graphic overlays accentuate key aspects of operation, such as combustion, pressure, and air flow. The animation will be used at tradeshows and for sales presentations across the world.

"CT Power Update" Informs Consumers about State Energy Consumption

A consortium of Connecticut utility, energy and science organizations recently announced the initiation of "CT Power Update." This program is designed to inform consumers about the current condition of the state's electric consumption as well as actions that may be necessary when consumption increases or the reliability of the electric system is at risk.

Working with Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering, Sonalysts designed a total solution that mined data from external data sources and updated customized graphs for each participating TV station in real-time.

Several of Connecticut's TV stations have agreed to provide "CT Power Update" as part of their programming and to make it accessible on their websites to help in educating consumers about Connecticut's peak electric demand and the benefits of controlling or reducing that demand.

Rascal Flatts Fans Love New Animation On National Tour

Our assignment was to create an animation for country group, Rascal Flatts, in the style of a popular video game. The animated "Guitar Player" was intended to introduce the encore performance. In concert, the animation appears on two 38-foot-high screens flanking the stage. The animation was delivered to the client on a Wednesday, debuted in concert on Friday, and by Sunday had appeared in fan videos posted on YouTube. The entire project, from design to completion, was accomplished in two-and-a-half weeks.
